Costa Rican Talent in Washington, D.C.!
A group of young Costa Rican pianists from Limón, Guápiles, Pérez Zeledón, and San José
performed at the Washington International Piano Festival, an event renowned for bringing
together some of the most respected and talented pianists in the world, who form a faculty of
international acclaim.
The Ambassador of Costa Rica to the United States, Catalina Crespo, was present at the
John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and expressed the honor of witnessing the
Costa Rican pianists: “Their participation not only highlights their talent and dedication, but
also reinforces the value of music as a powerful medium to connect cultures and build
bridges between nations,” stated the Ambassador.
The young Costa Rican pianists who participated in the Festival are: Amanda Espinoza,
Isabella Castro, Paula Vargas, Génesis Bustos, Uliana Khomenkova, Ivy Wuchen, Eliz
Wuchen, Marcelo Marín, Victoria Marín, Emma Sheh Lu, Alison Urena, Valentina Sánchez,
and Gabriel Paz-Campos.
The Washington International Piano Festival is a non-profit organization dedicated to the
performance and teaching of classical music at the highest level.
